AI Can Make Production Faster. It Cannot Make a Story Matter.

Artificial intelligence is changing media production at remarkable speed.

It can assist with scripting, storyboarding, editing, transcription, voice generation, visual development and post-production.

For production teams, this represents an enormous opportunity.

But it also creates a dangerous misconception: that technology can replace the need for creative thinking.

It cannot.

AI can help generate possibilities. It can accelerate repetitive tasks. It can help teams move from concept to execution faster.

But technology doesn’t automatically understand why a particular story matters to a specific audience.

That still requires human judgment.

A brand film about a Ghanaian entrepreneur, for example, is not simply a sequence of images and words. It carries culture, context, aspiration, emotion and identity.

Those things require interpretation.

The future of production will therefore not be human versus AI.

It will be human creativity amplified by intelligent tools.

The agencies that benefit most from AI will be those that use it to remove friction while protecting the most important part of production: the idea.

Because the industry does not have a shortage of tools.

It has a shortage of stories worth telling.
